Passing this 24-hour course allows you to collect samples and conduct building inspections to assess asbestos risk as an AHERA accredited Building Inspector. It also prepares you to evaluate inspection reports.
You learn the most common locations for asbestos in a building and a systems approach for finding hidden asbestos products. You develop an understanding of the most important federal and California asbestos regulations, health effects, legal liability, and insurance issues.
With the guidance of experienced Cal-OSHA certified asbestos consultants, you practice inspecting buildings and sampling, categorizing, and recording materials using the most up-to-date practices and protocols.
This course is one of the Cal-OSHA requirements for Certified Asbestos Consultants and one of two required for Cal-OSHA Certified Site Surveillance Technicians.
An annual 4-hour refresher course is required to maintain your AHERA accreditation or Cal-OSHA certification.
